The information that you enter into CPS is not backed up when you back up your QuickBooks file and it requires it's own backup.

In less than 5 minutes we will walk you through the 4 steps that are necessary to set up the initial CPS backup routine, after that CPS will automatically back up your data every time you exit the program.

This simple procedure for creating a backup can save you a ton of time and effort if your computer crashes, is compromised by a virus or if you need to move CPS to a new computer.  Without a backup, you'll need to set everything up from scratch.

Need to restore your Certified Payroll Solution (CPS) data, but aren't sure how to?

Maybe you aren't sure where your backups are located - learn how to use the "Search" function on your computer to locate your Cps Data *.zip file and restore it.

Job costing needs sometimes do not match the requirement of certified payroll report generation, for example:

You are awarded a job which involves work on several different buildings, for job costing purposes you've created a QuickBooks Job record for the entire project and then you created sub-jobs for each building - so you could generate accurate job costing reports.  However, the GC wants a single certified payroll report for the entire project.

This video will demonstrate 4 different options in which you can generate certified payroll reports:

1. All jobs and sub-jobs are rolled up to the "Customer" level
2. All sub-jobs, sub-sub-jobs, etc. are rolled up to the "job" level
3. All jobs, sub-jobs, etc. are rolled up 1 level
4. Customers, jobs, sub-jobs, sub-sub jobs, etc. are reported at the level they are entered in QuickBooks.

The video also discusses some common reasons as to "why" you might want to save the to Excel.  If it's because you want to email them to someone, you might be better off printing them to a pdf file.

A common error or message window that can appear when running your certified payroll reports is a Timecard/Paycheck mismatch.

A Timecard/Paycheck mismatch can occur:

• If you delete/change a timecard entry when creating the actual paycheck
• If the dates you entered are incorrect
• If you have voided paychecks

This video will teach you how to troubleshoot and correct a Timecard/Paycheck mismatch.

Troubleshooting why deductions and/or net wages are not correct on your final certified payroll reports can be a grueling task for us and for you - we have to ask you a LOT of questions because you have all the information right in front of you and we don't.

Most of the time, the problem is due to incorrect linking or assignments in the items that you'll find from the Linked Data menu -> Deductions.
